Family

Through this 22 years of my life,
Ive always valued and treasured the people whom I call family.
Family doesnt have to be blood related or anything.
They can be totally not related to you,
but someone who means the world to you.
To me, anyone who is close to me,
and someone who really means alot to me, is my family.
I love stitch alot and i should quote something i learnt from that little cutie.
"Ohana means family, and family means nobody gets left behind"

Sadly, in the context of my country, I feel that community love hardly exists anymore.
Im not sure if it is because of society, but i feel that they are no longer looking out for each other
as much as in the past.
Even between neighbours, there are many fights, quarrels,
and i dont see any sharing of food and other things anymore.
When you see someone asking for help,
some people even shunned away or pretended not to see.

Even in my family, I keep hearing selfish things like,
Dont get too close to this person, stay away from this and that.
It just feels awkward as I am borned into a catholic family,
and as Christians we are taught to love each other as we loved ourselves
and to love everyone in the name of God.
Love should be boundless and not tied to any limits.
Yet they say things that are contrary to what they believe in and preach.

As for me, I am going to treasure my family, my loved ones.
And also not forgetting to show love to everyone whom i meet.

Dear Lord,

We are humans and sometimes we forget about the things you teach us,
and let our humans instinct act upon ourselves.
Remind us constantly that love is unconditional, love is limitless.
And help us to show the act of love to everyone around us,
even if they are complete strangers.
Let them feel your warmth and love in their hearts through the actions that we do.
We ask this in the name of Christ,

Amen
