Christmas

Happy Christmas to everyone!
This advent season is a time for love, hope, peace and joy.
Christmas is not just about presents or gifts,
but its about the time you spend with your loved ones.
It is a time when you put down whatever sorrows and troubles you have,
and enjoy the season!
Hang out with your loved ones especially if you have not been with them for so long.
Forgive also those whom have hurt you and ask for forgiveness from those you have hurt.
Christmas is a time for peace, try not to have any fights or conflicts with people around you.
Just smile if things become too awkward.
And Lastly, rejoice for this day two thousand and thirteen years ago,
our saviour and lord was born!

Still

Hi all, I have been busy with my examinations lately.
But I would like to pause for a little while and take my time to offer a song to God.

Dear Lord,

As we sit comfortably in our home, offices and schools,
Remind us that there are some people who are not as lucky as us.
Those who live in fear that they might die any minute.
Those living in war torn countries, disaster prone areas and the poor.
Dear lord, remind us to constantly pray for peace and love in this world.
So that one day, we might unite together as brothers and sisters of Christ.
Dear lord, I would also like to pray for those who were affected recently by typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines, that they may draw strength and show love to each other in times of difficulties. Let them know that you are always there for them especially in troubled times. Dear Lord, pray also for those who need your help the most, shine a light into their darkness and let them feel the warmth of your love.

Amen

God Is Love, trust in him

Have you ever heard of this song that goes

"As I thank You Lord for the trials that come my way
in that way I can grow each day as I let You lead
and I thank you Lord for the patience those trials bring
in the process of growing I can learn to care

But it goes against the way I am to put my human nature down
and let the spirit take control of all I do
cause when those trials come my human nature shouts the things to do
and God’s soft prompting can be easily ignored

I thank you lord with each trial I feel inside
that your’re there to help lead and guide me away from wrong
Cause you promised Lord that with ev’ry testing
that your way of escaping is easier to bear

I thank you Lord for the vict’ry that growing brings
in surrender of ev’rything life is so worthwhile
and I thank you Lord that when ev’rthing’s put in place
out in front I can see your face and it’s there you belong"

I was playing this song for praise and worship in church camp this weekend.
And it daunted on me how human each of us really are.
Each time we face a failure, we get angry, we get agitated.
And most of the time we let our emotions take control and make rash decisions.
Sometimes these very decisions may cost us dearly.
As i meditated upon these lyrics,
it taught me to always let the holy spirit guide us in whatever things that we do.
God gives us trials to help us grow.
And in this process, we learn to be a stronger person.
We are all human, there is nothing embarrassing about acknowledging our weakness.
As God has said, the humble will be exalted.
Whenever we are facing a difficulty, let us never forget that god is always here with us.
Most of the times he would send somebody to guide you.
Or just guides you with the holy spirit.
Let us always trust in HIM for HE knows what is best for us.

Dear Lord,

Teach us to be patient.
Especially when we are facing troubles.
Remind us that each time we face a hurdle,
It is a stepping stone meant for us to grow stronger.
Remind us that you will never let us be alone and you are always here with us.
Teach us to control our emotions and trust in you.
For you know whats best for each and everyone of us.
We are all humans and we are weak.
But with the grace of the holy spirit guiding us,
we can be strong.
Lead us, guide us, mold us and strengthen us like a potter to his clay.
This we ask in your most precious name.

Amen

Being too nice?

Have you ever came across somebody saying that your being too nice and freaking them out?
Well this issue have been troubling me for a while now.
We were taught to be nice and show love and care.
But yet when we do that, people say we are treating them too nicely.
And that they are afraid you have ulterior motives.
I seriously don't get it.
Is there something wrong with just being nice?

People who judge you

People judge, sadly.
No matter how good you are,
people still see the bad points of you.
They bad mouth about you, they spread rumours about you.
You may ask, who are they to judge you?
But you know there is nothing you can do about it.
So why be bothered by what others think about you?
You just have to believe in yourself.
And not forgetting all your loved ones who believe in you.
Just remember that at the end of the day,
it is only God who can judge you.
If you stay true to yourself, theres nothing to be afraid.
"Blessed are you when people insult you,
persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.
Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven,
for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you."
There is a song that helps me go through these problems all the time.
Its Hero by Mariah Carey.
"When you feel like hope its gone, look inside you and be strong.
And you'll finally see the truth, that a hero lies in you"
And for those who are judging others,
i advise you to stop doing that.
Because you would'nt like that feeling if others do it to you too.
So to all those out there who are saddened by being judged by others,
Dont worry yourself over such silly things.
Just be yourself =)

Family

Through this 22 years of my life,
Ive always valued and treasured the people whom I call family.
Family doesnt have to be blood related or anything.
They can be totally not related to you,
but someone who means the world to you.
To me, anyone who is close to me,
and someone who really means alot to me, is my family.
I love stitch alot and i should quote something i learnt from that little cutie.
"Ohana means family, and family means nobody gets left behind"

Sadly, in the context of my country, I feel that community love hardly exists anymore.
Im not sure if it is because of society, but i feel that they are no longer looking out for each other
as much as in the past.
Even between neighbours, there are many fights, quarrels,
and i dont see any sharing of food and other things anymore.
When you see someone asking for help,
some people even shunned away or pretended not to see.

Even in my family, I keep hearing selfish things like,
Dont get too close to this person, stay away from this and that.
It just feels awkward as I am borned into a catholic family,
and as Christians we are taught to love each other as we loved ourselves
and to love everyone in the name of God.
Love should be boundless and not tied to any limits.
Yet they say things that are contrary to what they believe in and preach.

As for me, I am going to treasure my family, my loved ones.
And also not forgetting to show love to everyone whom i meet.

Dear Lord,

We are humans and sometimes we forget about the things you teach us,
and let our humans instinct act upon ourselves.
Remind us constantly that love is unconditional, love is limitless.
And help us to show the act of love to everyone around us,
even if they are complete strangers.
Let them feel your warmth and love in their hearts through the actions that we do.
We ask this in the name of Christ,

Amen
